Assistant Manager -Experiential Marketing and Operations for Government & Public Services (GPS)

We are seeking a seasoned marketer with experience in events management and marketing operations to join our growing marketing team. This role will be the mastermind behind our marketing engine, supporting everything from financial management to event planning, and data analysis in a bid to make the team more organized and structured. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading/managing marketing campaigns and events in large professional services firms, working closely with the US Strategic Marketing Planners (SMPs) to develop a portfolio of marketing programs by leveraging strong market research, data analysis, and leadership reports. They will also drive operational intelligence within the team, improve processes to enhance the firm's brand value and propagate its services, thriving at the intersection of marketing strategy, events management, and operational excellence. The role requires the individual to wear dual hats of being an events/experiential marketer and operations maestro, working in the GPS (Government & Public Services) Marketing ecosystem and serving as a trusted advisor to their business leaders and key stakeholders. This individual should demonstrate experience in organized program management, leading and independently managing multiple, concurrent projects while working collaboratively across a virtual team.
Required skills and professional experience:

• Event Planning and Execution: 6 - 9 years of work experience leading/supporting events and marketing operations. The event and marketing operations specialist will play a key role in devising the strategy and managing the execution of all GPS events.
• Proactive thinker and self-starter, comfortable with navigating ambiguity: A self-motivated individual who is a go-getter and is confident in figuring out solutions in case of ambiguous/challenging situations with a problem-solving orientation and mindset.
• Liaison and Coordination: Liaise with stakeholders and businesses to understand their needs and ensure priority alignment and coverage across the spectrum of marketing-supported events.
• Market Research: Conduct and possess comprehensive market research and know-how, gather information, negotiate contracts, and ensure event feasibility.
• Vendor Management: Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers. Manage and coordinate live and virtual event logistics, including venue, guests, programs, catering, and marketing. They will be responsible for managing event logistics, coordinating with vendors, creating and implementing marketing campaigns, and analyzing their effectiveness.
• Ideation and Optimization : Propose ideas to enhance services and ensure the best event quality and experience. Supervise facilities and manage all event giveaways and sweepstakes, ensuring a seamless world-class field experience for attendees, clients, and our leaders.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing leads and PR teams to effectively promote and publicize the event.
• Problem Solving: Handle any issues proactively and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day.
• Communication: Effectively inform all stakeholders about any problems and how they are being addressed, ensuring that everyone remains on the same page.
• Post-Event Analysis: Track the events closely and devise a mechanism to report the impact, issues, and how they were addressed. This can provide valuable insights for future events. This analysis will help improve the planning and execution process, reducing the likelihood of similar problems in the future.
• Marketing background: Sound understanding of marketing concepts with strong analytical thinking to vividly organize various aspects of marketing operations, including campaign management, resource management, budget, and financial reporting.
• Marketing Operations: Play a key role in organizing and ensuring regular financial reporting to keep stakeholders informed and support the overall budget planning and adherence to financial plans. Strong in interpreting data and building a storyboard that adds to the messaging theme of GPS marketing campaigns.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite: Experience and proficiency in developing brand complaint PowerPoint leadership presentations and also has the acumen of presenting data effectively leveraging MS Excel-based analysis using advanced features.
• Team Player: Excellent team player with experience working and driving conversations with virtual and global teams, including proven ability to collaborate with the US.

As an Experiential/Events Marketing Operations Manager in the GPS marketing team, you will provide support to GPS marketing supported events and conferences, to be launched in the marketplace. Work closely with the leadership in the US and USI to synthesize and optimize team resources and organize them in a structured format and be periodically communicated to the leaders for enhanced decision making. You should demonstrate strong business writing and presentation skills, be team-oriented, and have a proven ability to manage competing demands simultaneously.
Key job responsibilities include:

• Event Planning and Development: Develop event concepts, themes, and plans that align with GPS goals and target audience priorities. This includes selecting suitable event formats, choosing venues, and determining necessary marketing resources/assets.
• Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the event budget, ensuring all costs are accounted for, and spending is optimized to deliver the best possible event within financial constraints.
• Vendor Selection and Management: Identify, select, and manage relationships with approved vendors, organizers, and technology providers.
• Event Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement effective event promotion strategies. This may include content development, social media marketing, email campaigns, and public relations efforts.
• Logistics Coordination: Oversee all logistical elements of the event, including venue setup, transportation, accommodation, security, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Team Player: Work collaboratively as a team player across teams in US & USI ensuring effective communication and enhanced teaming leads to Deloitte's impactful brand experience and the success of the event
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with all event stakeholders, including sponsors, speakers, attendees, and team members. This includes providing regular updates and handling any queries or concerns.
• Event Execution: Oversee the smooth running of the event on the day, managing the event team, dealing with any issues that arise, and ensuring a positive experience for all attendees.
• Evaluation and Reporting: Conduct post-event evaluations to determine how future events could be improved. This includes gathering attendee feedback, analyzing event success metrics, and preparing and presenting reports on event outcomes.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in event management, incorporating new ideas and approaches to continuously improve the organization's events.
• Aggregate relevant data in MS-PowerPoint/MS-Excel. Excellent verbal and written communications skills

The Government and Public Services (GPS) team provides solutions in support of market positioning and acquisition activities to maximize Deloitte's revenue, relationships, and reputation in the Government marketplace. Strategic Marketing Planners (SMPs) are key marketing professionals in the Marketing and Communications team at Deloitte who convert business needs into powerful marketing strategies and impactful campaigns. The India team provides efficient, flexible, quality support to SMPs through innovative solutions that facilitate strategic decision-making and works in collaboration with the US stakeholders in campaigns/activations, and competitive intelligence support. Also, the team works closely with the US GPS channels under Client and Sales Excellence including Marketing and Communications, Information Management, Account Management, Competitive & Market Intelligence, Pursuits, and Strategy.
