Description:OperationalGeneral Cashier\xc2\xb7 Verifies all of the days noted payments.\xc2\xb7 Deposits payments and ensures adequate supply of house funds and small change for all Office Clerks-Cashiers.\xc2\xb7 Collects, with an assigned witness, all Front Office remittance envelopes from the drop-safe and to verify them against the Front Office daily witness sheet.\xc2\xb7 Counts, together with the witness, cash, checks and credit card vouchers and verifies them to the Front office computerised remittance report details.\xc2\xb7 Provides Front Office with required change and to anticipate and plan for extra change for busy weekends or holidays.\xc2\xb7 Reimburses Front Office for disbursements made by them (due backs).\xc2\xb7 Secures approval from the Director of Finance to update foreign exchange rates at the Front Office according to daily bank information.\xc2\xb7 Disburses petty cash requests and IOUs that have been approved by the Director of Finance.\xc2\xb7 Monitors and follows up on all IOU requests and ensure that they are cleared within the stipulated date.\xc2\xb7 Ensures that the combination to the General Cashiers safe is not known to anyone other than the General Cashier.\xc2\xb7 Ensures that encashment of employees personal checks and cash advances are made only if they have the approval of both the General Manager and Director of Finance.\xc2\xb7 Adds and balances house bank daily.\xc2\xb7 Maintains custody and supports of unclaimed wages.\xc2\xb7 Assists, when required, in carrying out surprise cash counts.Payroll\xc2\xb7 Ensures accurate, up-to-date and timely payroll input, processing, and payment.\xc2\xb7 Ensures that all sign-in/sign-out forms are properly completed by all employees and are approved by their Department Head.\xc2\xb7 Verifies regular and overtime hours against employees\' attendance records.\xc2\xb7 Ensures that all status change notices are duly authorised before preparing them for DP or manual input.\xc2\xb7 Prepares the hotels payrolls accurately and timely as per the prescribed requirements.\xc2\xb7 Reconciles monthly payroll costs and to prepare the resulting journal entries for posting to the General Ledger.\xc2\xb7 Ensures that all departing employees are accurately paid in accordance with statutory requirements and as per contractual agreement.\xc2\xb7 Prepares and verifies monthly declarations and submits for timely payment.\xc2\xb7 Ensures payroll withholding for income tax.\xc2\xb7 Ensures all clearance forms are properly completed for departing employees before payment.\xc2\xb7 Processes year-end update on payroll system.\xc2\xb7 Processes part-timers payroll twice a month.Payroll\xc2\xb7 Ensures that all part-timers\' attendance records are properly completed by all employees and are approved by their Head of Department.\xc2\xb7 Ensures accurate input of part-timers\' data based on attendance record received.\xc2\xb7 Liaises with respective department on any part-timers\' discrepancy on attendance record.\xc2\xb7 Verifies the computation, hours worked and meal break of part-timers\' attendance records.\xc2\xb7 Prints and verifies transaction listing of part-timers against the input batches.\xc2\xb7 Prints all necessary reports and submits to the Director of Finance's office for approval.\xc2\xb7 Verifies bank and cash listing against department cost summary.\xc2\xb7 Prints and distributes part-timers\' payslips.Personnel\xc2\xb7 Supports the implementation of The People Brand, demonstrating and reinforcing Hyatts Values and Culture Characteristics.Other Duties\xc2\xb7 Attends and contributes to all training sessions and meetings as required.\xc2\xb7 Is knowledgeable in statutory legislation in taxes and industrial relations.\xc2\xb7 Exercises responsible behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel team and Hyatt International.\xc2\xb7 Maintains strong, professional relationship with the relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners and other organisations.\xc2\xb7 Reads the hotel's Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.\xc2\xb7 Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.\xc2\xb7 Responds to changes in the Accounting function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.\xc2\xb7 Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
