We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager Assurance GSC\xe2\x80\x99s.

• This role is a middle management position in Global Finance Operations Centre (GFOC) responsible for managing plus strengthening the Risk and Control Environment. Individual will be part of second Line of Defense and responsible for regular assurance monitoring and governance
• The overall objective is to create an environment where there are minimum or no surprises, enhanced awareness amongst employees, timely escalations, and strict monitoring.
• The role\xe2\x80\x99s critical success factors include managing relations within GFOC and the larger HSBC Finance community; ability to work across teams/ sites/ time zones, influencing business outcomes.
• The role is location agnostic

Principal responsibilities

• Strong Knowledge on SOX 404 Internal Controls, COSO Frame work and Guidelines.
• Ability to interact with the Global Business and Process Owners to review the Process and Internal controls associated with the Business.
• Conduct Walkthrough Meetings with Process Owners, along with Onshore BRCM Team & PWC Auditors.
• Strong Knowledge in Business Functions for the various Business Areas in HSBC.
• Ability to understand the Process, Polices & Procedures to Assess the Effectiveness of SOX controls.
• Adhere to the ICMP (Internal Controls Monitoring Plan) and work closely with the Onshore BRCM Team.
• Understanding various Systems and their Functionality which are used by the Business Areas and are Under Scope of SOX Controls.
• Preparation of critical Month end deliverables, SOX testing and highlighting of issues to business partner / management.
• Working with team and customer to ensure delivery as per agreed timelines.
• Be a subject matter expert for team and onshore
• Manage peak loads of work and also identify and re-engineer processes to reduce month end workload
• Review testing work papers and make sure all deliverables are submitted as per timelines
• Risk Ratings review.
• Has strong technical understanding of accounting principles and demonstrated competence in their application.
• Acquire understanding and handle processes using process methodology as applicable.
• Establish and maintain effective relationship with business areas and identify areas of service improvements by implementing regular calls and feedback mechanism.
• Ensure that all the deliverables are met as per the agreed PLA and SLA.
• Ensure that the procedures are updated in a timely manner.
• Work with the team and ensuring sharing of knowledge & ideas
• Adherence to Group policies, audit, controls, and compliance requirements.
• To continually assess the changing operating procedures, staff movements, legal and regulatory requirements, management restructures, and the impact of new technology on the process.
• Ensuring BCP plan is documented, agreed with business partner and tested as per agreed timelines
• Issues/Problems are investigated and resolved or escalated appropriately
• Ensure compliance with HSBC standards and Statutory requirements

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

• Qualified CA /ICWA/MBA with at least 5+ years of post-qualification experience in accounting / financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of month end Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Balance Sheet reconciliations and reporting requirements.
• Ability to independently manage the service delivery of a designated processes
• Good verbal and written business English -Strong communication skills
• Extensive knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Assertive and confident - ability to manage difficult customers
• Strong project management skills, ability to drive deliverables.
• Ability to interact with multiple people / multi-tasking, should be flexible to stretch at work across shifts
• Should be flexible to stretch and work across shifts

What additional skills will be good to have?

• Knowledge of AssureNet/RADAR and FTP application month end accounting is preferable.
• Exposure to SOX requirements and audit back ground is desirable.
