Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It)
As an
Assistant Editor
, you'll be at the heart of the publishing process--refining manuscripts, managing content development, coordinating reviews, and ensuring seamless production workflows. Working closely with the publisher and commissioning editor, you'll help shape high-quality educational books and digital content while conducting market research to support publishing decisions.
Editorial and Content Development

Provide structural and developmental editing to enhance content quality.
Conduct detailed content reviews in collaboration with subject matter experts and reviewers.

Production and Workflow Management
Liaise with production vendors, typesetters, and designers to manage the transformation of manuscripts into polished books and digital content.
Coordinate proofreads and quality checks before final approvals.
Track production schedules to ensure timely delivery to the press.
Market Research and Competitive Analysis
Assist the Publisher and Commissioning Editor in conducting market research to identify content gaps and emerging trends.
Analyse competitor publications and provide insights to strengthen our publishing strategy.
Gather feedback from authors, reviewers, and educators to refine editorial decisions.
Author and Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with authors, providing editorial guidance and ensuring timely manuscript submission.
Communicate with reviewers and SMEs for content validation and feedback.
Assist in developing author guidelines and content templates.
Misplaced articles, subject-verb mismatches and rogue commas make your skin crawl. You're the person who mentally corrects restaurant menus, and you wouldn't let a faulty preposition pass under your watch.
