We are seeking a skilled and ambitious Assistant Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, cooking, and plating dishes
- Prepare and cook menu items to high standards of quality and presentation
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards
- Assist with menu planning, inventory management, and ordering supplies
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Participate in kitchen meetings and contribute to menu development and innovation
- Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and quality control
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Chef or in a related role
- Culinary degree or diploma, or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and menu planning
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and stand for long periods
- Food safety certification and knowledge of health and safety regulations
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a high-end restaurant or hotel kitchen
- Knowledge of molecular gastronomy, pastry arts, or specialized cuisine
- Certification in wine pairing or mixology
- Experience with kitchen management software and inventory control systems
- Additional language skills or international culinary experience
