About Us - Seachef, as the name suggests, is in the business of Maritime Catering Management and handles all aspects of hospitality on board vessels. We provide Ship Owners and Ship Managers with comprehensive on board catering services. Our base office in Mumbai is run by experienced Catering Superintendents who are graduates from recognized catering institutes. All base office staff has extensive experience in running catering and housekeeping departments on board merchant vessels, offshore platforms and hotels. Job Objective - Executes the catering supply schedule to the ships assigned, to support the on time and according to needs provision of supplies to vessels Key Accountabilities - 1 Executes the provided catering plans for all vessels assigned and proceeds to the purchasing of all required supplies to support the effective operation of vessels. 2 Analyses the client requests and contracts requirements and asks for the submission of quotations from third parties. Evaluates them against specific financial and qualitative criteria and submits his suggestions for approval, so as to identify and propose the cooperation with the most suitable supplier. 3 Prepares the purchase orders to the approved suppliers and monitors their on-time execution. Proceeds to the quality control of the provided products in order to validate that their quality meets the required standards. 4 Coordinates with suppliers and on-board staff to ensure the prompt and accurate delivery of supplies. 5 Prepares and appropriately maintains the supply dockets in order to support the free and accurate delivery of goods. 6 Monitors and keeps record of the assigned vessels consumption rates, in order to propose adjustments to catering plans and generate information for the modification and improvement of contracts. 7 Coordination with various CSC in regards to briefings, interview schedules, paper based test and telephonic interviews of catering staff. Coordinating for trainings for catering staff at various MTC. Requirements Education and Qualifications: Hotel Management degree Work Experience: 1 year of experience in a premium Hotel/Service Industry/Food Industry/Supply Chain Job-Specific Skills: Knowledge of food production and food/beverage service Knowledge of food ingredients and various food habits worldwide Good communication skills Fluency in English PC literacy
