Primary Responsibilities:
Mechanical Assembly:
- Assemble mechanical parts and components based on engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Fit and align parts to ensure proper function and adherence to design specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to assemble and secure parts.
Interpretation of Technical Drawings:
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Identify and select appropriate materials, fasteners, and tools required for the assembly process.
- Ensure that all components are assembled according to specified tolerances and dimensions.
Quality Control:
- Inspect and test assembled products to ensure they meet quality standards and functional requirements.
- Identify and rectify any assembly defects or issues, ensuring that finished products are free of errors.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to conduct final inspections and obtain approval before shipping.
Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment used in the assembly process.
- Assist in the repair and adjustment of mechanical components as needed.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure that all tools and equipment are used safely.
- Follow company policies and procedures, as well as industry standards, to ensure compliance in all assembly activities.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of assembly work, including parts used, modifications made, and any issues encountered.
- Update assembly documentation and logs as required by the production or quality control team.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and accessible for future reference
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with other assembly team members, engineers, and production staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior fitters or apprentices in assembly techniques and best practices.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills-
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Strong understanding of mechanical components and assembly processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to handle and assemble mechanical components, including lifting and working in various positions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, to meet production deadlines.
