Job Description

Position Description: Provide treaty reinsurance catastrophe modelling support to reinsurance underwriters.


Technical Qualifications / Experience: In-depth CAT modeling knowledge (expertise in using RMS RiskLink/RiskModeller, AIR Touchstone user interface platforms along with strong understanding of (re)insurance backtables schema. Experience of 4+yrs in portfolio roll-up/treaty modelling domain. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office; Proficiency in Excel, Access and SQL


Customer focus/Client support: Excellent written communication in English, experience of directly interacting with end customer/client would be an advantage, able to handle rotational shifts (including late evening)


Academic Qualifications: Graduate/ Postgraduate in Actuarial science/ Statistics/ Mathematics / Economics/ Engineering/Geology/Geophysics; Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; knowledge of global reinsurance market, P&C insurance terminology. Treaty modelling experience in reinsurance renewals business an added advantage.


Location: Hyderabad (accommodative towards Bangalore based candidates as well considering they are willing to travel as per business demands)


• Would be required to manage multiple priorities efficiently and meet tight deadlines
• Would be needed to analyse cedant exposure/modelled results received from underwriters/brokers and import into vendor risk modeling environment for in-house CTRe modelling
• Would be involved in communication with US/CAD/LDN underwriters and/or analysts with regard to follow-up questions/ modelling assumptions
• Would need to apply complex reinsurance treaties, terms and conditions like Cat excess of loss (Cat XL), Working excess of loss (WXL), Quota Share, Surplus Share, Aggregate structures for multiple lines of business (LOBs) on global cedants
• Will be responsible for generating accurate modelling results and subsequent pricing within expected timeframe in line with SLAs
• Will be responsible for interpreting RMS, AIR modelled results and communicating/explaining them to underwriters.
• Need to embark on research analysis to study modeling approach, best-practices, trends, improvement opportunities and support ad hoc projects.
• Assist team lead with workflow management, process documentation and quality reviews.
• Mentor and train junior members on process workflow
