Area Sales Officer - FMCG
Job Summary:
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Area Sales Officer to manage and grow sales in a designated region for our FMCG products. The Area Sales Officer will be responsible for achieving sales targets, managing distributor relationships, ensuring product availability, and implementing sales strategies to expand market share. This role requires strong sales acumen, market knowledge, and the ability to lead sales efforts within the territory.
Key Responsibilities:
• Sales Target Achievement: Achieve and exceed sales targets by driving primary and secondary sales within the assigned area.
• Distributor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, ensuring efficient product distribution and maximizing coverage across the region.
• Market Expansion: Identify new sales opportunities, untapped regions, and expand the brand's presence by targeting new customers and markets.
• Retailer Relationships: Ensure effective communication and build strong relationships with retailers to ensure product availability, visibility, and sales growth.
• Sales Planning & Execution: Develop and execute sales plans and promotional activities in alignment with company objectives to drive sales and product visibility.
• Sales Reporting: Provide accurate and timely sales reports, market insights, competitor activity, and customer feedback to the management team.
• Promotional Activities: Support and implement marketing and promotional activities to increase brand visibility and support product launches.
• Team Coordination: Coordinate with the sales team and other departments to ensure smooth operations, timely deliveries, and the implementation of sales initiatives.
• Customer Relationship Management: Address customer concerns, resolve issues promptly, and maintain long-term relationships to drive repeat business.
Key Requirements (Education, Work Experience & Skills):
• Bachelor's degree (preferably in Business, Marketing, or related field).
• 2-4 years of experience in sales , territory management , or FMCG sales .
• Proven experience in distributor management and market penetration .
• Strong understanding of primary and secondary sales and retail management .
• Excellent communication , negotiation , and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive sales growth.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM tools .
• Fluency in English , Hindi , and local language (preferred).
• Willingness to travel within the designated area.
