The Area Sales Manager (ASM) for Research & Laboratory Chemicals is responsible for managing sales activities, building and maintaining customer relationships, and achieving sales targets within a designated territory. The ASM will focus on promoting and selling a range of research and laboratory chemicals to academic institutions, research organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and other relevant industries. Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales Management:
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company sales targets and expand customer base.
  • Identify new business opportunities and generate sales leads.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and feedback in a timely manner.
  • Product Knowledge:
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company\xe2\x80\x99s product portfolio.
  • Stay informed about new products and technologies in the market.
  • Provide product demonstrations and technical support to customers as needed.
  • Territory Management:
  • Plan and execute visits to existing and potential customers.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of customers within the territory.
  • Monitor and report on sales activities and performance using CRM software.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Coordinate with the product management team to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with other sales team members to share best practices and strategies.
  • Reporting:
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and participate in sales meetings and reviews.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the chemical, laboratory, or scientific industry.
  • Strong understanding of research and laboratory chemicals and their applications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Willingness to travel within the designated territory.
Preferred Skills:
  • Advanced degree (Master\xe2\x80\x99s or Ph.D.) in a relevant scientific field.
  • Previous experience in technical sales or a laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards related to laboratory chemicals.
