The Area Sales Manager (ASM) for Research & Laboratory Chemicals is responsible for managing sales activities, building and maintaining customer relationships, and achieving sales targets within a designated territory. The ASM will focus on promoting and selling a range of research and laboratory chemicals to academic institutions, research organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and other relevant industries. Key Responsibilities:
Sales Management:
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company sales targets and expand customer base.
Identify new business opportunities and generate sales leads.
Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
Understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Handle customer queries, complaints, and feedback in a timely manner.
Product Knowledge:
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company\xe2\x80\x99s product portfolio.
Stay informed about new products and technologies in the market.
Provide product demonstrations and technical support to customers as needed.
Territory Management:
Plan and execute visits to existing and potential customers.
Maintain an up-to-date database of customers within the territory.
Monitor and report on sales activities and performance using CRM software.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
Coordinate with the product management team to ensure customer requirements are met.
Collaborate with other sales team members to share best practices and strategies.
Reporting:
Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
Provide accurate sales forecasts and participate in sales meetings and reviews.
Qualifications:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Proven experience in sales, preferably in the chemical, laboratory, or scientific industry.
Strong understanding of research and laboratory chemicals and their applications.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Willingness to travel within the designated territory.
Preferred Skills:
Advanced degree (Master\xe2\x80\x99s or Ph.D.) in a relevant scientific field.
Previous experience in technical sales or a laboratory environment.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards related to laboratory chemicals.
