Area Manager Field Quality

Main Purpose -

• Plan and drive Field and Toll plant inspection targets/schedules to ascertain quality critical points ( CCP) in row crop pre-commercial and commercial field production .
• Facilitate informed data driven decision making and Drive collaborative initiatives with Pre-commercial, production, Quality testing and SPR that contributes to improved delivery of Quality .
• Build networks with key stakeholders and Facilitate resolution /information sharing of customer queries on quality through root cause analysis and preventive actions .
• Drive Digital and transformation initiatives in Filed Quality
• Focus on growth and development of quality team - exploring STA opportunities, external and internal training, cross functional exposure

Key Tasks & Responsibilities -

• Develop crop inspection plan for pre-commercial and commercial seed production and ensure representative crop inspections at defined intervals/set calendar as per FSS guidelines .
• Develop audit inspection schedules at manufacturing units (toll /own) and ensure audits that support compliance, adherence to SOP and safe practices
• Develop the schedule and implement trainings to Field team/Toller on critical to quality aspects in Pre-commercial & Commercial seed production processes.
• Drive and monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions for the observed deviations.
• Develop, communicate, and track key quality performance indicators that drive course correction and deliver improved quality.
• To review risks for quality and collaborate with pre-commercial and commercial on their mitigation actions.
• To undertake the field quality activities of the location.
• Support field sampling and dispatch of problem inventory /suspected disease/genetic issue samples to QA lab
• Execute complaint management tests from genetic purity perspective.
• Implement IMS/QMS, SHSE in field quality processes
• Drive digital and transformation projects in field quality that drive continuous improvement.
• Support the planning and conduction of GOT and FET based on requirement
• Ensure communication of non-conforming products that could represent a significant risk to customers or row crop supply.
• Support statistical analysis and inference of data using relevant statistical and programming tools
• Coach/guide for growth and development of team and facilitate internal/external training and cross functional exposure.

Qualification & Competencies -

• Post graduate in agriculture with 5+ years relevant business experience
• Knowledge of seed science, Field inspections/audits
• Good knowledge and expertise of using statistical tools .
• Excellent team player, change and project management capabilities
• Good communication and presentation skills
