Your Role We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Designer for Large Scale Mixed Use (commercial/residential led developments with retail/hospitality). As a Gensler Senior Architectural Designer, you will collaborate with our design team to develop innovative design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. You demonstrate innovative thinking, and are a recognized contributor to high-profile, design driven projects. Your work ethic and dedication to problem solving, combined with our commitment to collaboration and mentoring, makes Gensler the perfect place to further your career.What You Will Do Ideate in collaboration with the Design Director and the whole team to create innovative designs in response to complex challenges Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings Utilize hand rendering techniques to communicate design concepts Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment Effective communicator, collaborative and team-conscious. Provide Mentorship and coaching to grow junior staff members Participate in office culture and initiatives Your Qualifications Required Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree Architecture, or foreign equivalent 15+ years of related project experience, preferably in commercial-led and residential-led mixed use, but also across various practice areas. Registered Architect. Knowledge of materials, construction techniques and building codes LEED accreditation a plus Your Design Technology Qualifications Essential: Deep understanding and expertise in Autodesk Revit for design authoring, documentation, data extracts and project delivery. Deep understanding and expertise in Rhinoceros for design authoring. Good knowledge and experience with interoperability workflows between Rhino & Revit throughout all the stages of a project. Basic understanding and familiarity with real-time rendering processes, and material creation & management within the context of integrated BIM and parametric workflows. Basic understanding and familiarity with Computational Design applications such as Grasshopper and/or Dynamo. Basic understanding and familiarity with simulation principles and processes, including interpretation, and application of results. Desirable: Good knowledge and experience with the strategic planning, and setup of BIM projects. Good knowledge and experience with collaboration within the BIM context, including cloud-based markups, consultant coordination and clash detection. Good knowledge and experience with Computational Design applications such as Grasshopper and/or Dynamo. Good knowledge and experience with simulation principles and processes, including interpretation, and application of results. Familiarity with Performance Design applications such as Autodesk Insight, Sefaira, and Ladybug tools. Good knowledge and experience in the use of VR walkthroughs and panoramas for client presentations, consultant coordination and internal design reviews.
