Job Title: Procurement Manager - Construction & Interiors

Reports To: Board of Directors

Summary:

The Procurement and Design Consultant is responsible for the end-to-end procurement of all building materials and interior finishes, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products at the most competitive prices. This role requires a combination of strategic procurement expertise, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of construction materials and interior design principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement of Building Materials:
• Manage the procurement of all building materials, including concrete, steel, lumber, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC supplies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable pricing and terms.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites, coordinating with project managers and contractors.
• Procurement of Interior Finishes:
• Source and procure high-quality interior finishes, including flooring, wall coverings, lighting, furniture, fixtures, and decorative elements.
• Collaborate with interior designers to ensure that procured materials align with the design vision and specifications.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and innovations in interior design materials and finishes.
• Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between all parties involved in the procurement process.
• Resolve any issues or disputes related to procurement in a timely and professional manner.
• Cost Control & Budgeting:
• Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring cost-effective sourcing of materials and finishes.
• Conduct regular cost comparisons and analyses to ensure competitive pricing.
• Implement cost-saving strategies and negotiate discounts to optimize procurement spending.
• Quality Assurance:
• Evaluate the quality and suitability of materials and finishes before procurement.
• Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure that delivered materials meet specifications.
• Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards in all procured items.
• Technical Expertise:
• Possess a strong understanding of construction materials, their properties, and applications.
• Have a good eye for aesthetics and design, with the ability to reconcile architectural renders with the actual available materials.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams and contractors on material selection and installation.
• Administrative Tasks:
• Review and approve purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities.
• Generate reports on procurement spending, supplier performance, and cost savings.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Proven experience in procurement, preferably in the construction or real estate industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in sourcing and procuring building materials and interior finishes.
• Experience working with architects, interior designers, and contractors.
• Skills:
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
• Knowledge of construction materials, building codes, and interior design principles.
• Strong aesthetic sense and attention to detail.
