We are looking for a passionate and eager-to-learn Apprentice Chef to join our kitchen team. This apprenticeship is designed for individuals who are looking to kick-start their culinary career and gain hands-on experience while working alongside professional chefs. As an Apprentice Chef, you will receive comprehensive training in food preparation, kitchen operations, and culinary techniques while contributing to the daily tasks of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in Food Preparation : Help in basic food prep tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients under the supervision of senior chefs.
• Learn Kitchen Techniques : Gain experience in various cooking methods, knife skills, and kitchen management through hands-on training and mentoring from experienced chefs.
• Work with the Team : Support the kitchen team by assisting in different sections of the kitchen and learning how to manage different stations.
• Maintain Hygiene : Ensure the kitchen remains clean and well-organized, following all food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Stock Management : Assist in receiving and organizing deliveries, checking ingredients, and learning how to manage inventory.
• Ongoing Learning : Participate in both on-the-job training and formal culinary education, as required by the apprenticeship program.
• Assist in Plating : Help with plating dishes according to the restaurant's standards under supervision.
Qualifications & Experience:
• No prior kitchen experience required; a genuine passion for cooking and learning is essential.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is a plus.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Enrollment in or willingness to join a culinary training program.
