Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Baker to join our team at Battlegrounds. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to creating high-quality baked goods. The Baker will be responsible for preparing a variety of pastries, breads, and other baked items, ensuring that they meet our cafe's standards for quality and taste.

Key Responsibilities:

• Baking & Preparation:
• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other baked goods.
• Follow recipes and production guidelines accurately.
• Measure and mix ingredients to form doughs and batters.
• Quality Control:
• Ensure all baked goods are of the highest quality and presented attractively.
• Monitor the baking process to ensure consistency and quality.
• Adjust oven temperatures and baking times as needed.
• Inventory & Supplies:
• Maintain an inventory of baking ingredients and supplies.
• Order ingredients and supplies as needed.
• Ensure proper storage of all ingredients and baked goods.
• Sanitation & Safety:
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.
• Properly handle and store food products to prevent contamination.
• Customer Service:
• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take and prepare special orders as requested by customers.
• Provide samples of baked goods to customers.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or similar role.
• Knowledge of baking techniques and the ability to follow recipes.
• Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, and dough sheeters.
• Strong attention to detail and creativity.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification from a culinary school is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items, up to 50 lbs.
• Manual dexterity to handle various kitchen tools and equipment.
