Job Description

As part of the Kollmorgen India Application team, Application Engineers provide technical assistance in the integration of Kollmorgen products into customer applications. Application Engineers also support the sales team in determining optimal application of company product based on customer requirements as well as prepare and present demonstrations of company products to prospective customers. The opportunity to prepare and provide training and follow-up technical support for customers and distributors as well to provide management of pre-sales projects with critical customers are opportunities that arise regularly. Your task will also be to support the test, evaluation, and training content creation of our products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Key Deliverables: Including but not limited to:

• Provide Technical and application support to the customers in the form of demonstrations and technical Q&As in the field of machinery market using Motion control system & Components
• Application development and execution of the customer projects at sites.
• Interprets customer needs and aids the customer in defining technical and commercial requirements
• Provides technical documentation or product specifications when needed
• Coordinates activities (training, visits) in territory or customer set in partnership with Field Sales.
• Professional communications via telephone, e-mail, letters and in person
• Assists in developing standard policies and procedures to support continuous improvement initiatives and metrics
• Programming, emulation, simulation, debugging and startup of application systems, per requirement specification.
• Internal and external training
• Internal Technical Support activities
• Documentation of application projects
• Planning of application projects, assignments and tasks
• Creation of application notes and success stories.

• Business Travel as required- Extensive travelling might be required \xe2\x80\x93upto 60% of the time in some cases.

• Learn / Apply Altra Business System (ABS Tools) to drive overall improvement.

• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to learn and understand product features and function
• Strong customer service skills including the ability to probe deeper to fully understand what the customer is needing
• Ability to work cross-functionally to meet customer needs
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage to a schedule
• Fair knowledge and understanding of applications of OEMs and to Distributors plus good technical know-how in motion control applications and fieldbus systems ( Ethercat, Profibus, Profinet. CanOpen ,Sercos, Modbus etc)
• Experience in handling and configuration of Motion controllers and PLCs in the factory automation environment.
• High level of energy, dynamic and self-driven
• Positive mental attitude, confident, enthusiastic, motivational
• Ability to take and implement initiatives, results oriented
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to create team working
• Ability to cope with pressure as well as flexibility or mobility for frequent traveling
• Road warrior, knows how to survive with little or no backup
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English including group presentation skills
• Strong, confidence-inspiring personality. Fluent in English

Education and Experience Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education & Experience \xe2\x80\x93

• Engineering degree / Diploma preferably in mechatronics, electronics, drive technology, power electronics, automation, or other related fields
• 8~ 10 years of experience in application development in the field of factory automation - Motion control systems involving servo motors, servo drives , motion controller is a must
