General Purpose
We are looking to hire a Salesforce Commerce Cloud frontend and UI developer with a good e-commerce web application development background and excellent technical and communication skills, to effectively collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop functionality and enhancements. Duties will include coding, scripting, configuration and troubleshooting of web-based e-Commerce projects on Salesforce Commerce Cloud/Demandware and Shopify. The Application Developer will also field and resolve usage issues and perform other duties as assigned, that are in line with the role's responsibilities and are required for the business. This role transcends organizational and geographical boundaries as it aims at supporting and enabling the various divisions of the Herman Miller business across the globe. The ideal candidate should understand the software development lifecycle and use agile methodology to design, develop, test and implement solutions that deliver on end-user needs.
Responsibilities• Designing and developing Websites using the bootstrap HTML5, SCSS, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript and/or React.
• Skilled with HTML, CSS, JQUERY Events and responsive web development.
• Developing templates and content slots using ISML, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, CSS, AJAX and integrate with Pipelines/Controllers/SFRA on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware SiteGenesis) platform.
• Develop web-based, e-Commerce projects on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), Shopify platform.
• Analyze, debug/troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to e-commerce and SFCC implementation.
• Debugging the application code manually as well as using Firebug and other tools. Coding web pages by following the best Search Engine Optimization techniques.
• Develop, implement and maintain Salesforce customizations, applications, extensions and integrations.
• Participate in the planning/analysis of business requirements for system changes and enhancements.
• Create testing and implementations plans, including user training, UAT and documentation.
• Active participation through all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Remain current with Salesforce technologies and best practices.
Requirements• 4-6 years of hands-on experience in developing web-based, e-Commerce projects on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC)/Demandware with a strong focus on front-end development.
• Experience in SFCC ECMAScript, XML, HTML5, CSS, AJAX, jQuery, JSON object definition, Node.JS.
• Experience in using Pipelines, JS Controllers, ISML Templates and real-time data exchange using Web services.
• Good understanding of Business Manager and configuring jobs.
• Experience in Shopify platform development and styling, Shopify REST API will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of source control and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence.
• Experience working on an Agile development team preferably using SCRUM.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
• Self-driven, motivated, result oriented.
• Strong organizational skills to deal with a varied workload and be responsive to the needs of the business
• Strong problem-solving and systems analysis skills
• Understands the necessity of and contributes to efficient coding standards
• Demonstrated ability to influence and consult (providing options with pros, cons and risks) around all key technical decisions during project delivery
• Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software and tools currently used in the HMI office environment
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without supervision
• This role will work either in the in the one of the UK shift - 12 noon to 9:00 P.M. or 2:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. The UK shift employees could be requested to work in the US shift on rare occasions to support the business during a critical issue or for any releases/migrations that maybe scheduled.
