People for Animals (PFA) is India's largest animal welfare organization, dedicated to protecting animals from cruelty, abuse, and neglect. Through rescue operations, legal intervention, and community education, PFA works to foster a compassionate society where animals are treated with respect. We are looking for passionate and dedicated Animal Cruelty Response Officers to lead our efforts in reporting cases of animal cruelty and promoting humane treatment and responsible care of animals.

Position Summary:

The Animal Cruelty Response Officer will be responsible for assisting in the reporting of animal abuse, coordinating rescues, documenting cases, and working with legal and law enforcement teams to pursue justice. This role also includes conducting outreach and educational programs to raise awareness about animal welfare laws and ethical treatment practices within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Documentation: Respond to reports of animal cruelty, neglect, or abuse; gather evidence, document cases, and prepare detailed reports to support legal action where applicable.
• Rescue Operations: Coordinate and assist in rescue operations, ensuring the safe removal of animals from harmful situations.
• Collaboration with Authorities: Work closely with local law enforcement, legal professionals, and government agencies to facilitate the enforcement of animal welfare laws and assist in legal proceedings.
• Community Education & Outreach: Conduct educational programs and awareness campaigns to inform the public about animal cruelty laws and humane treatment of animals.
• Data Tracking & Reporting: Maintain accurate case records, compile data for internal and external reporting, and analyze trends in animal cruelty incidents to support policy and preventive measures.
• Training & Workshops: Assist in training volunteers, law enforcement personnel, and community members on identifying, preventing, and responding to animal cruelty cases.
• Emergency On-Call Support: Be available for emergency call-outs and respond promptly to urgent cases outside regular working hours.

Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in any field; certification in animal protection law or bachelor's degree in law is a plus.
• Experience: Fresh graduates with understanding of Indian animal protection laws may apply.
• Skills: Strong understanding of animal welfare laws and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Physical Ability: Ability to manage physically demanding tasks, including animal rescues and on-site visits.
• Personal Qualities: Compassion, resilience, and dedication to animal welfare; ability to remain calm under pressure and handle potentially distressing situations with professionalism and empathy.
• Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with Indian animal protection laws is highly desirable.
