About Credit & Fraud Risk Finance



Credit & Fraud Risk (CFR) Finance team delivers fact-based, decision-driven and high-impact Net Loss Provision forecasts and collections credit-risk related insights and deep analytics. The key objective is to drive prudent financial decisions and support credit-risk and collections strategies while ensuring adherence to governance and controls. This position will be part of a highly talented team with strong intellectual curiosity.


About the Analyst role:


Description:



The team supports all regional Finance teams, Risk Management, and Marketing teams on all aspects of Loss Provision. Our key responsibilities include Planning, Forecasting, & Reporting - Build financial forecasts for Net Loss Provision to aid in investment decisions. Communicate monthly results and highlight key drivers of change to better enable long-term planning. This position will be lead a highly talented team driving Reserves, Recoveries and Collections forecast and Credit Risk Analytics. Our team is excited about solving business problems through data and insights.



How will you make an impact in this role?


• Support Provision Forecasting through Analytics of our International Card and Non-Card portfolios, through close partnership with Chief Credit Officers in the regions and central Credit COE based out of India.


• Provide decision-support with a strong emphasis on developing analytics that identify trends and opportunities in the portfolio which can be used to optimize Business and Risk decisions.


• Develop and present key analyses and monthly recoveries and collections results to senior management.


• Provide thought leadership in development/enhancement of Forecasting models as well as strategic business analytics on Reserves, Recoveries and Collections.


• Work cross-functionally on projects across the Risk Finance organization to help AXP meet its long-term growth targets.


Qualifications:


• Hands-on experience working on financial analytics using large amounts of data.


• Advanced excel modeling skills and high level of proficiency in PowerPoint are required.


• Proficiency in SQL, Hive/Yellow Brick required; Python preferred.


• TM1, Tableau, Power BI or other visualization tools experience is strongly preferred.


• BS/MS in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science


• Previous card/risk management experience and/or 5+ years of work experience preferred.

• Solid financial and analytical skills; ability to work with large sets of data and draw meaningful conclusions, empowering our business partners to make smart, information-based decisions.


• Superior attention to details, along with exemplary organizational and problem-solving skills


• Must be results-driven and proactive with the ability to manage multiple projects and work within tight timelines.


• Desire to work on ambiguous projects, creating clarity while driving successful and meaningful outcomes.


• A strong work-ethic and robust interpersonal skills, showcasing the ability to maintain and build relationships and effectively collaborate with team members to achieve goals.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders with data driven insights.
