• Coordinate with plant team to prepare sampling plan and arrange for resources
• Carry out sampling as per SOP
• Arrange to submit samples for different test per test plan
• Miantenance of sampling equipment
• Conduct Moisture and Physical purity tests as per SOP
• Periodic validation of moisture meters with Standard Oven method.
• Validation of data in the SAP
• Ensure timely result entry in SAP
• Monitoring the calibrations, validations & annual maintenance of the equipment
• Participate in ISTA Proficiency Test & Inter Laboratory Comparison Test
• Reference weed seed collection
• Provide the training to team

Key Responsibilies of the role:

• Responsible to draw the representative sample as per ISTA rules
• Responsible for moisture and physical purity testing, result analysis and reporting as per SOP
• Periodic document review in line with the changes in the ISTA rules for sampling, moisture & physical purity
• Maintenance and Calibration of equipment
• Ensure training to team
• Other duties as assigned

Accountabilities

• Ensure sampling and sample submission for each test as per lead time
• Accountable for consistency in results & reporting
• Ensure internal checks & controls
• Validation of moisture meters against standard hot air oven method

QualificationsQualification:

• Graduation in Agriculture is minimum/ Post graduation in Seed Science and Technology is preferrable
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in relevant field
• Experience in ISTA accreditation will be an added advantage

Critical knowledge

• Basic knowledge of seed sampling & its importance, sampling methods, sampling intensity, moisture testing, physical purity testing, ISTA tolerance tables, seed morphology, physical seed quality, seed drying, Indian minimum seed certification standards, seed testing, seed processing, seed treatment and seed storage,
• ISTA Rules on Sampling, Moisture testing & Physical purity test (weed seed, other crop seed identification etc.)
• Computer skills (Excel, word, Power point etc.)
• Basic knowledge of SAP

Critical experience

• Experience in seed sampling, moisture testing, physical purity testing & weed seed identification
• Experience in data analysis.
• Experience in reporting.
• Reporting KPI's.
