Together, we're the next BIG thing in data.We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trade Operations Leader with a deep understanding and knowledge about international trade compliance. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in trade operations. The successful candidate needs to be proficient in building teams, managing operations, and maintaining service level agreements with internal stakeholders. They will be adept at navigating complex trade environments and providing effective and compliant solutions. The incumbent will also have a keen interest in introducing automation in trade operations.The role requires staying up to date on new legislation, close liaison with the program management office and IT to assess the impact of new regulations on trade operations, proactively participate in designing the system controls and be part of writing up the business requirements. Drive change management and continual improvement initiative within the organization and at the same time have a high degree of attention to detail and a proficient understanding of the broader implications of local and global trade regulations.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of trade operations professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Manage and optimize trade execution processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions, master data releases, document creation, etc.
  • Seamlessly drive change management within the operations team.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external counterparties, brokers, and service providers.
  • Open to experiment with latest technology with AL and ML to optimize operation.
  • Build team KPI's and continually manage and improve performance.
  • Develop pro-active risk mitigation techniques within operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as compliance, risk management, and finance to streamline operations and improve efficiencies.
  • Analyze trade data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on trade operations performance and key metrics.
  • Assist in internal company global policies and finance audits.
  • Support with cross-functional projects related to trade transactions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in international business/ Supply Chain / License Customs Broker
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in trade operations, international business, or a related field
  • Certification in trade compliance, such as Certified Export Compliance Certification (CUSECO) or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of core trade principles (e.g., valuation, tariff coding, free trade agreements, reconciliation, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of the India STPI zone requirements
  • Excellent ability to interpret and apply complex trade regulations, determine the country of origin and customs value, and interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in preparing, reviewing, and completing key shipping documents including commercial invoices, shippers\' letters of instruction, and airway bills.
  • Proven experience in maintaining accurate and detailed records in line with company and legal requirements for records retention.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in document preparation and record keeping.
  • Proven people management experience
  • Experience in a multinational corporation
  • Knowledge of EU and US trade laws is a plus
  • Experience with hazardous material shipping, environmental regulations, and handling of IT equipment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
