Job Description

As an Alt Text Writer and Copyeditor, you will be responsible for creating descriptive alt text for images in our eBooks, ensuring accessibility and enhancing the reading experience. In addition, you will review and edit content for clarity, coherence, and correctness. Your expertise in alt text creation and editing will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality publications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create concise, informative, and accurate alt text for images in eBooks, adhering to accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with editors and coders to understand the context and importance of images.
• Edit and proofread content for grammar, punctuation, style, and consistency.
• Ensure that all alt text and content align with the overall tone and voice of the publication.
• Conduct quality checks to verify that all materials meet established guidelines and standards.
• Provide feedback to authors and designers to enhance image selection and usage.
• Stay updated on best practices for accessibility and alt text creation.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG).
• Proficient in using editing tools and software (e.g., MS Office, Google Workspace).

Pay: ?250,000.00 - ?400,000.00 per year
