Agronomist
Job Description
Perform regular crop inspections and preventative maintenance on farm equipment . Manage the fertilizer and chemical programs; conduct soil research and recommend fertilizer and pesticides based on soil tests. Develop farming and business strategies to improve crop yield and profitability
• Research : Conduct research on factors that affect crop growth, and perform experiments to test new solutions
• Field work : Travel to farms and other field sites, and scout fields for issues like weeds, insects, disease, and nutrition
• Data analysis : Collect and analyze data, and prepare progress reports
• Recommendations : Make recommendations to growers based on research, and provide actionable insights
• Training : Train others on products and methods to improve crop production
• Collaboration : Collaborate with growers and other agronomists on research and solutions
• Communication : Communicate effectively with farmers, and present research at conferences or publish it in journals
• Sustainable practices : Develop ideas for sustainable and environmentally conscious farming practices
• Soil management : Perform soil management, including sampling fields and managing field trials

Pay: Up to ?15,000.00 per month
