Job Description

The role of a Supervisor in a project, especially in community-based or field projects, is crucial for maintaining quality control, overseeing team activities, and ensuring project goals are met. Here are the key responsibilities typically assigned to a supervisor:

1. Team Management and Support

Oversee daily activities of team members, providing guidance, support, and resolving any issues that arise.

Ensure each team member understands their roles and responsibilities.

Conduct regular team meetings to update everyone on project progress, address challenges, and share insights.

2. Quality Control and Monitoring

Regularly check and verify the quality of data collected or tasks performed, ensuring they meet project standards.

Conduct spot checks and site visits (if field-based) to monitor ongoing activities and adherence to protocols.

Provide feedback to team members to maintain quality and improve performance.

3. Training and Development

Train team members on project-specific procedures, tools, or protocols as needed.

Identify skill gaps and organize training sessions to improve team competency.

Mentor team members, especially those who are new or less experienced, to enhance their skills and knowledge.

4. Coordination and Communication

Act as the primary point of contact between the field team and the project manager or higher management.

Prepare and submit regular reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes to the project manager.

Maintain open communication with all stakeholders, including community members (if applicable), to ensure smooth operations.

5. Resource Management

Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources (equipment, supplies, etc.) to ensure they are used effectively and responsibly.

Track resource usage and address any shortages or excesses, coordinating with relevant departments or teams.

6. Problem Solving and Decision-Making

Identify potential issues in project execution and take proactive steps to prevent them.

Resolve conflicts or issues within the team, or between the team and community members.

Make on-the-spot decisions to adapt to changing conditions, especially in field-based projects.

7. Data and Reporting Oversight

Ensure all data collected by team members is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.

Assist in compiling, cleaning, and analyzing data for reports.

Generate summary reports highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

8. Compliance and Safety

Ensure that all team members follow health, safety, and compliance protocols.

Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to protect the team and community (if applicable).

Report any incidents or violations to the project manager and take corrective actions as needed.

A supervisor's role is to bridge the gap between project management and field teams, ensuring efficient project execution while maintaining quality and standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?25,000.00 per month
