: Assistant General Manager (AGM) - Farm Operations

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement and Vendor Management:

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers through market research.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective supply chains.
• Implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs without compromising quality.

2. Negotiation and Cost Management:

• Negotiate favorable payment terms with suppliers to manage cash flow effectively.
• Work closely with the finance team to monitor and improve payment timelines.
• Implement processes to track payment performance and address any delays promptly.

3. Supplier Relationship Management:

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers to leverage competitive advantage.
• Collaborate with suppliers on product quality improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Resolve supplier performance issues and manage supplier contracts effectively.

4. Production Management:

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the production department to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Monitor production processes to ensure they meet company standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Coordinate with other departments, including logistics, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless production operations.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and enhance overall productivity.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the production team.
• Manage production budgets and control costs to achieve financial objectives.

5. Farm Operations Management:

• Oversee all aspects of farm operations, including crop planning, planting, maintenance, and harvesting.
• Ensure optimal use of resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to achieve high productivity and efficiency.
• Implement best practices in hydroponic farming to maximize crop yield and quality.
• Monitor and manage farm infrastructure, including greenhouses, irrigation systems, and equipment, to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for farm operations to ensure consistency and quality.

6. Quality Control and Assurance:

• Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure produce meets the highest standards of safety and quality.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of farm operations to identify and address any issues or areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.

7. Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead and manage the farm operations team, providing direction, support, and mentorship.
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to support their professional growth.

8. Strategic Planning and Reporting:

• Develop and implement strategic plans for farm operations to achieve business objectives.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare and present reports to senior management on farm operations performance, challenges, and opportunities.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the procurement and production teams in identifying and sourcing high-quality materials and services essential for our operations.
• Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Foster a collaborative environment with suppliers, ensuring alignment with our company's goals and values.
• Implement and oversee procurement and production policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall procurement and production functions.
• Report to and collaborate with senior management, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• CA or Inter CA candidates are highly preferred.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in farm operations, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Proven track record of managing farm operations and leading teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proficiency in farm management software, procurement software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Preferences:

• Experience in Agritech or allied procurement practices.
• Professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
• Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to farm operations and procurement.

Working Conditions:

• This role may require occasional travel to meet with suppliers and attend industry events.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ?1,500,000.00 per year
