About the role


We are looking for an Advisor - Global Commodities Back-office operations for supporting and managing the organization's Commodity operations.


This position is an excellent opportunity to join the regional team based in Delhi. This dynamic team is responsible to assist and managing the large transactional operations for Global Commodity back office operations and to have strategic alignment with Commercial / Group treasury teams and Business Units Controllers, FBPs and Group leadership and the wider finance and commercial organization.

What the role entails

Reporting line: Sr. Advisor - Global Banking & Commodity services

Scope: Your scope will include (but not limited to) below:

• Monitor all commodity back-office operations activities in order to detect irregularities and Investigate all transactions in order to prevent fraud
• Should have trading knowledge on Exchanges and have experience in closely working with Exchange brokers and Counterparty Banks
• Knowledge of ETRM & CTRM domain (must)
• Derivatives Process (OTC & Exchange Traded Derivatives), Collateral Management & Deal Confirmation & Settlement Process
• Strong knowledge of European market infrastructure regulation (EMIR), Monetary Authority of Singapore MAS regulatory reporting
• Knowledge of commodities exchanges that deals in metals futures and options
• Responsible for ensuring that all operational issues are resolved, procedures and controls are updated and reviewed periodically.
• Efficiently managed collateral (OTC & OTE derivatives) along with Hedge fund accounts which are highly risky and volatile
• Complete ownership of Approvals of journals & Settlements with Counterparties
• Calculation of daily mark to markets
• Verification and approving of Trades booked by the traders via Trading Technologies, Nextrade ,Manual trades in CTRM platform
• Position Reconciliation between the brokers and company's ledgers.
• Active collaboration with Traders and clients to challenge the existing process and innovate, improve, and enhance the same to further streamline the process
• Ensuring all settlements are settled as per SLA and clear exceptions, if any, on a timely basis
• Prepare & Certify monthly Commodity reconciliation reports in blackline and ensuring the balance ties back to the Commodity ledgers before the monthly close
• Assist auditors - internal and external - with documentation and backups required for the auditors to do their job satisfactorily
• Follows up on all open transactions continuously and provide updates to the management.
• Adhere to corporate standards and control procedures in all reconciliation activities.
• Onboarding and testing of new products and strategies
• Knowledge in relation to adherence of commodity RACM controls & compliances and procedures and have fair understanding of internal controls and SoX controls with experience of leading internal and external audits
• Perform all other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.

To be successfully considered for this role, candidate should have below qualifications and skills.

• Working knowledge of SAP, Fusion, ZEMA & CTRMs will be an additional benefit.
• Knowledge and understanding of Commodity reconciliations and Blackline tool.
• Degree in Accountancy and qualifications from professional accounting bodies
• Working knowledge of Deal verification and trading on exchanges
• Certification in LME /CME physical trading preferred and desirable.
• Degree in Accountancy and qualifications from professional accounting bodies would be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of commodity products (futures, options, swaps), business and operational trade lifecycle knowledge
• Good communication and organizational skills, able to interact and work effectively across functional/locations.
• Detail oriented with strong risk awareness and able to perform operational responsibilities to a consistently high standard.
• Strives to bring new thoughts and ideas to teams in order to drive innovation.
• Self-starter with a strong desire to drive process efficiency.
• Problem solver with good analytical and reconciliation skills
• Possess knowledge of various derivatives & commodities and working of the commodity systems
• Demonstrate the required skill to perform detailed work accurately and promptly too.
• Display problem-solving skill even under stressful conditions and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. PowerApps, Power BI
• Able to manage own time and that of others effectively.
• Working Knowledge of SAP/Fusion/ Blackline/ZEMA/CTRM's
• Handling of Commodity process documentation
• Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages.
• Ability to work autonomously and be part of the broader team.
• Appropriate handling of sensitive information
• Excellent time management and organizational ability
