Position Summary :
The Admission Counselor plays a key role in attracting, evaluating, and enrolling students to K.R Mangalam Global School. This individual is responsible for guiding prospective students and their families through the admissions process, promoting the institution's academic programs, and fostering strong relationships with high school counselors, educators, and other community partners. The Admission Counselor must have a strong understanding of the school's values, programs, and goals and be able to communicate these effectively to prospective students.
Key Responsibilities :
• Actively recruit prospective students through various channels, including high school visits, virtual events, and one-on-one meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and alumni to enhance recruitment efforts.
• Represent the school at local and national recruitment events and programs.
• Use targeted outreach strategies to ensure diversity in student enrollment.
• Evaluate student applications, including academic records, personal statements, recommendation letters, and standardized test scores, to determine eligibility for admission.
• Conduct interviews (in-person or virtual) with prospective students and families to assess fit, interests, and readiness for college.
• Assist in reviewing scholarship applications and making recommendations for merit-based awards.
• Provide guidance and support to prospective students and their families throughout the admissions process, including answering questions, explaining program offerings, and clarifying admission requirements.
• Offer insight into campus life, academic programs, financial aid options, and student services.
• Help students explore academic, extracurricular, and career opportunities at the institution.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase awareness of K.R Mangalam among prospective students, including creating informative presentations, brochures, and digital content.
• Maintain consistent communication with applicants via email, phone calls, and other communication platforms.
• Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to enhance the school's presence in digital, print, and social media.
• Provide regular reports on recruitment activities, application trends, and outcomes to the Director of Admissions and senior leadership.
• Maintain accurate records of prospective students, applications, and admissions data using CRM and other systems.
• Organize and participate in campus tours, open houses, admitted student days, and other recruitment events.
• Collaborate on the planning and execution of orientation programs for incoming students.
• Contribute to the development of admission policies and procedures.
Qualifications :
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of experience in college admissions or related fields preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to both large and small groups.
• Knowledge of the admissions process, including application review and financial aid procedures.
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse groups of students, families, and educators.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM software or admissions databases.
