Job Description

An admission counselor's job is to help higher education institutions recruit and select students for their programs. Some of their responsibilities include:

• Reviewing applications Admission counselors review applications, verify applicant information, and make judgments on students' academic achievements and leadership skills.
• Interviewing students Admission counselors meet with and interview prospective students to help with final admission decisions.
• Following up with students Admission counselors follow up with students to address any issues with their applications.
• Providing information Admission counselors provide information about the college, its programs, admission requirements, and financial aid options.
• Conducting tours Admission counselors arrange and lead campus tours for prospective students and their families.
• Participating in recruitment events Admission counselors attend college fairs and other recruitment events to attract students.
• Collaborating with others Admission counselors work with other admissions counselors and educational departments to review applicants and make final decisions.
• Maintaining records Admission counselors maintain accurate records of their interactions with students and update the admissions database.
• Staying up to date Admission counselors keep up with current trends in college admissions and legal guidelines and requirements.

Admission counselors should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be passionate about education. They should also be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?37,722.96 per month
