Job description Position Title: Admission Counselor Position Summary: The Admission Counselor plays a crucial role in the recruitment and enrollment process of prospective students. This position involves actively engaging with potential students to guide them through the admissions process, assess their qualifications, and provide support and assistance as needed. The Admission Counselor represents the institution to prospective students and their families, promoting its programs, values, and opportunities. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment activities to attract prospective students, including attending college fairs, high school visits, and community events.
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive information about the institution\'s academic programs, admission requirements, financial aid options, and campus life to prospective students and their families.
  • Review and evaluate applications for admission, ensuring all required documents and information are complete.
  • Assess applicant qualifications based on established criteria such as academic performance, extracurricular involvement, personal statements, and recommendation letters.
  • Conduct interviews with prospective students to assess their suitability for admission and to address any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Assist prospective students with the application process, including guidance on completing application forms, obtaining necessary documents, and meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of applicant information, communication interactions, and admissions decisions using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as academic advisors, financial aid offices, and faculty members to facilitate a seamless admissions process for students.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of recruitment events such as open houses, campus tours, and information sessions.
  • Follow up with prospective students to provide additional information, address concerns, and encourage them to complete the application process.
  • Stay informed about changes in admissions policies, trends in higher education, and advancements in recruitment strategies through professional development activities and networking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions or other supervisory personnel.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in a related field required; Master\'s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in college admissions, student recruitment, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of admissions processes, higher education trends, and best practices in student recruitment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM systems.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Working Conditions:
  • This position primarily operates in an office environment but may require travel to off-site locations for recruitment events.
  • Evening and weekend work may be necessary to accommodate recruitment events and deadlines.
  • The Admission Counselor may need to lift and carry materials and equipment associated with recruitment activities.
