Job Summary :
The Accounts Assistant supports the finance team by performing a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with internal and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
• Financial Record Maintenance :
• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
• Maintain and update accounting ledgers, journals, and bank reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of trial balance and financial reports.
• Invoicing and Payments :
• Prepare and send invoices to clients/customers.
• Process payments to suppliers and employees.
• Ensure timely recording of receipts and expenses.
• Tax and Compliance :
• Assist in preparing GST, VAT, TDS, or other applicable tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and statutory requirements.
• Bank and Cash Handling :
• Reconcile bank statements and report discrepancies.
• Monitor petty cash transactions and ensure proper documentation.
• Support to Senior Management :
• Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Provide administrative support during audits.
• Miscellaneous :
• Maintain accurate and organized filing systems for financial records.
• Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders.
Key Skills and Competencies :
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, Quick Books, SAP).
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications and Experience :
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
