Job Summary:
The Accounts Assistant will provide support to the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company's finances. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Record Keeping:
+ Maintain financial records and ensure they are accurate and up-to-date.
+ Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable:
+ Process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
+ Manage accounts payable and receivable.
+ Reconcile bank statements and accounts.
• Data Entry:
+ Input financial data into accounting software.
+ Ensure all transactions are properly documented.
• Assistance in Audits:
+ Assist with internal and external audits.
+ Prepare audit schedules and provide information to auditors.
• Support to Senior Accountants:
+ Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
+ Provide support in budget preparation and forecasting.
• Compliance and Regulations:
+ Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
+ Keep up-to-date with changes in financial regulations.
• Administrative Duties:
+ Handle correspondence related to finance.
+ Provide administrative support to the finance team as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Previous experience in an accounting role is preferred.
• Experience:
+ Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
+ Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Excellent organisational and time management skills.
+ Good communication and interpersonal skills.
