The Accountant responsible for Reconciliation and Suspense Management will ensure accuracy in financial reporting by reconciling accounts and managing suspense accounts. This role requires in-depth analysis, attention to detail, and timely resolution of discrepancies. Key Responsibilities:
• Account Reconciliation:
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of various general ledger accounts.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in bank statements, vendor accounts, and financial reports.
• Ensure all reconciliations are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
• Suspense Account Management:
• Monitor suspense accounts for any unallocated or incorrect entries.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding items in suspense accounts by coordinating with relevant teams.
• Regularly review and clear suspense accounts to prevent buildup of unresolved transactions.
• Financial Reporting:
• Assist in the preparation of accurate financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
• Provide detailed explanations of variances in account reconciliations and suspense accounts.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
• Process Improvement:
• Propose and implement improvements in the reconciliation and suspense management processes.
• Develop and maintain documentation of reconciliation and suspense processes for auditing purposes.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, treasury, and operations, to resolve reconciliation and suspense-related issues.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Proven experience in reconciliation and managing suspense accounts, with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle) and MS Excel.

• Cash Handling:

• Audit Support:
• Prepare necessary reports and supporting documents for internal and external audits related to cash transactions.
• Address any audit inquiries or findings by providing relevant documentation and explanations.
• Process Improvement:
• Recommend and implement improvements to cash handling and reconciliation processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist in automating manual cash processes to reduce errors and improve tracking.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in cash handling, banking, or related financial roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly cash flow management and reconciliation.
