The Accountant Executive is responsible for managing all accounting processes, including preparing and maintaining financial records, overseeing compliance with accounting standards, and ensuring the efficient handling of transactions. This role requires strong attention to detail, expertise in financial reporting, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support the company's financial health.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting and Reporting:
• Prepare, maintain, and ensure accuracy in financial records, ledgers, and accounts.
• Generate periodic financial reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure all financial reporting adheres to local laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors.
• Monitor and manage accounts receivable, following up on overdue payments.
• Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Tax Compliance:
• Calculate, prepare, and submit tax returns, including GST, TDS, and income tax filings.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
• Maintain proper documentation for tax audits and other financial reviews.
Bank Reconciliation and Cash Flow Management:
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure alignment with accounting records.
• Monitor and manage daily cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts based on financial data analysis.
• Monitor budget variances and recommend corrective actions where needed.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, both in physical and digital formats.
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of data in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or SAP.
Vendor and Client Coordination:
• Liaise with vendors and clients to address queries regarding invoices, payments, and accounts.
• Maintain healthy business relationships through timely communication and resolution of issues.
Audit Preparation and Support:
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing accurate financial data and supporting documentation.
• Ensure readiness for audits by maintaining proper records and compliance documentation.
Team Collaboration:
• Coordinate with other departments, such as Procurement, Sales, and HR, to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Support the Finance Manager or leadership team with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.
Key Skills and Competencies
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar tools).
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and reporting.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial management.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with tax regulations, GST, and other compliance requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• 2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Knowledge of local tax laws, GST, and TDS regulations.
• Certification in accounting (e.g., CA, CPA) is a plus but not mandatory.
