Job Overview:
The Accounts Executive in a restaurant is responsible for managing the financial aspects of the business, ensuring accurate accounting records, handling day-to-day transactions, preparing reports, and assisting with financial analysis. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work with various financial software and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate financial records for all restaurant transactions, including purchases, sales, expenses, and payroll.
Monitor cash flow and maintain updated records of income and expenditures.
Billing and Invoicing:
Prepare and send out invoices to clients and vendors.
Ensure timely collection of payments and reconciliation of accounts.
Bank Reconciliation:
Regularly reconcile bank statements with restaurant financial records to ensure accuracy.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between bank accounts and accounting records.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
Handle payments to vendors and suppliers, ensuring invoices are accurate and payments are made on time.
Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate payment terms when necessary.
Tax and Compliance:
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
Handle GST filings and other financial compliance requirements related to the restaurant industry.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to track the restaurant's performance.
Assist in the preparation of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
Assist in creating and managing the restaurant's budget.
Monitor expenses and identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Audit Support:
Provide necessary documentation and support during financial audits.
Ensure that all financial records are up to date and meet audit requirements.
Inventory Management:
Coordinate with the kitchen and procurement teams to ensure proper recording of inventory purchases and usage.
Assist in inventory audits and ensure that costs are accurately reflected in the financial statements.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience as an Accounts Executive or similar role, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar platforms).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
