Position Overview:
The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgets, and providing financial insights to support decision-making processes within the organization. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to financial transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
- Record all financial transactions, including purchases, expenses, and revenue.
2. Budget Management:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budgetary performance and provide regular reports to management.
3. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process invoices and payments in a timely manner.
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
4. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Generate financial reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators.
5. Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local and national tax regulations.
- Prepare and submit tax returns accurately and on time.
6. Audit Support:
- Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits.
- Provide necessary documentation and support during audit processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in the education sector.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
