Testing Components Specialist Component, Accessibility, and Performance Testing
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Testing Components Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in component testing, accessibility testing, and performance testing, ensuring that our storybook/package deliver a seamless, inclusive, and high performing user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Component Testing:
Develop, document, and execute test cases to validate individual software components.
Work closely with development teams to understand component-level requirements.
Identify, document, and track defects to resolution.
Accessibility Testing:
Evaluate digital products for compliance with accessibility standards such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).
Perform manual and automated accessibility tests.
Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure inclusive user experiences.
Provide actionable recommendations to address accessibility issues.
Performance Testing:
Plan, design, and execute performance tests using tools such as storybook performance, JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.
Analyse system behaviour under varying loads to identify bottlenecks and capacity limits.
Generate detailed reports outlining performance metrics, issues, and recommendations.
Work with the DevOps and development teams to optimize performance based on testing outcomes.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven experience in software testing, including component, accessibility, and performance testing.
Familiarity with testing tools like Selenium, JMeter, Axe, and others.
Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA, Section 508).
Knowledge of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript) for test automation is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Certifications such as ISTQB, CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies), or equivalent.
Experience with cloud environments and performance testing in distributed systems.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration of tests in automated workflows. About Virtusa
