for Academic Dean

Position Title : Academic Dean
Department : Academic Affairs
Location : Telangana (Hyderabad), Andhra Pradesh.
Reports to : Academic Director

Position Overview:

The Academic Dean is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall management, development, and execution of the academic programs at the institution. The Academic Dean ensures that the institution's academic goals align with its mission, vision, and strategic objectives. This role involves fostering an environment of academic excellence, supporting faculty development, maintaining curriculum quality, and enhancing student success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Leadership & Management:

• Oversee the development, review, and assessment of academic programs to ensure high-quality and relevant education.
• Lead the planning and implementation of new academic initiatives and programs that align with institutional priorities.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, academic policies, and regulations.
• Work closely with department heads and faculty to maintain high academic standards.

2. Curriculum Development & Assessment:

• Supervise the design and implementation of curricula across various departments.
• Facilitate the periodic review and revision of academic programs to meet evolving educational needs and trends.
• Promote innovation in teaching and learning methods, including the integration of technology.
• Oversee academic assessments to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning outcomes.

3. Faculty Recruitment & Development:

• Lead the recruitment, retention, and development of faculty to build a strong academic team.
• Promote and support professional development opportunities for faculty, including workshops, conferences, and other educational resources.
• Conduct faculty evaluations and provide constructive feedback to improve teaching effectiveness.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment for faculty.

4. Student Success & Support:

• Oversee the academic advising process and ensure students receive appropriate support to meet their educational goals.
• Collaborate with student affairs and support services to enhance the student experience, from admission to graduation.
• Monitor and address student academic progress, retention, and success metrics.
• Serve as a mediator in academic disputes or grievances between students and faculty.

5. Strategic Planning & Institutional Development:

• Contribute to the strategic planning process by providing input on academic priorities and resource allocation.
• Participate in the development of long-term goals for the institution and ensure alignment of academic initiatives with these goals.
• Collaborate with other senior administrators to ensure effective communication and integration of academic and non-academic units.

6. Accreditation & Compliance:

• Lead efforts to maintain and enhance institutional and program-specific accreditation.
• Ensure adherence to state, national, and institutional regulations and standards governing higher education.
• Prepare reports and documentation required for accreditation bodies and other external agencies.

7. Budget & Resource Management:

• Oversee the academic budget and allocate resources to departments, programs, and faculty in a manner that supports institutional goals.
• Work with the administration to secure funding for academic programs, faculty research, and initiatives through grants and partnerships.

Qualifications:

• Education : A master's degree in education, academic administration, or a related field is required. A doctorate is strongly preferred.
• Experience :
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in academic leadership or administration, preferably at an intermediate or secondary institution.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, faculty development, and accreditation processes.
• Skills :
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in educational technologies and learning management systems.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position based on campus.
• Occasional travel for academic conferences, accreditation meetings, and other professional development activities.
• Must speak Telugu.
