Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and highly motivated Academic Counselor to join the Weavers Web Academy team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting students in their academic journeys by offering personalized guidance, career counseling, and helping them navigate challenges. The Academic Counselor will work closely with students, parents, and faculty to ensure that academic goals are clearly defined, achievable, and aligned with individual aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Academic Counseling and Guidance:
• Provide individualized academic counseling to students, assisting them in understanding their strengths, weaknesses, and areas of improvement.
• Advise students on course selection, ensuring they align with their interests, strengths, and long-term career objectives.
• Develop academic plans that cater to the student's unique learning style, goals, and challenges.
• Student Support and Intervention:
• Monitor students' academic performance and proactively address any concerns regarding grades, attendance, or personal struggles.
• Offer solutions for students facing academic challenges, including time management strategies, study skills, and stress management techniques.
• Maintain regular follow-ups with students to track their progress and provide ongoing support as needed.
• Career Counseling and Development:
• Guide students in identifying potential career paths based on their academic interests and strengths.
• Assist students with building professional portfolios, resumes, and preparing for job placements or internships.
• Provide interview coaching and career development resources to enhance students' employability.
• Workshops and Group Sessions:
• Organize and facilitate workshops focused on effective study habits, academic skills, stress reduction, and career readiness.
• Lead group sessions to discuss topics such as academic motivation, goal-setting, and overcoming common academic hurdles.
• Collaboration with Faculty and Administration:
• Work closely with faculty members to monitor students' progress and identify potential issues affecting academic success.
• Collaborate with the academic team to implement student support programs, ensuring that academic counseling is aligned with the institution's educational philosophy and goals.
• Maintain detailed and confidential student records, tracking progress and providing timely updates to relevant parties.
• Ongoing Professional Development:
• Stay updated on emerging trends in academic counseling, educational technologies, and career counseling.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance counseling skills and knowledge of the education sector.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in academic counseling or student support services, preferably within an academic institution or an educational platform.
• Strong understanding of academic curricula and the student learning process.
• Proficiency in career counseling and student development practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
• Knowledge of educational technology platforms, tools, and digital learning environments.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and be sensitive to their individual needs.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?35,000.00 per month
