• Help students understand degree requirements and graduation timelines.
• Monitor students' academic progress and provide strategies to improve performance.
2. Career Counseling
• Provide career advice by identifying students' strengths, interests, and career opportunities.
• Guide students in exploring internship or job opportunities related to their field of study.
• Assist with the preparation of resumes, cover letters, and interview skills.
3. Personal Support
• Address students' personal or social challenges that may impact their academic performance.
• Act as a liaison between students and campus resources, such as mental health services or financial aid.
• Offer advice on managing stress, time, and workload.
4. Problem-Solving and Advocacy
• Intervene and provide support when students face academic probation or disciplinary actions.
• Advocate for students in academic or administrative matters.
• Work with faculty and administrators to create plans for students at risk of failing or dropping out.
5. Program Development and Administration
• Develop workshops, seminars, or informational sessions on topics like study skills, time management, or career planning.
• Maintain detailed records of counseling sessions and students' academic histories.
• Collaborate with academic departments to create programs that enhance student success.
6. Parent and Guardian Communication
• Communicate with parents or guardians about students' progress (where applicable and with student consent).
• Provide advice on how parents/guardians can support their students effectively.
7. Continuous Professional Development
• Stay updated on academic policies, industry trends, and educational resources.
• Attend professional development workshops or conferences related to counseling and education.
