Responsibilities:
1. Student Advising:
Help students choose academic programs and courses that align with their goals and strengths.
Provide personalized academic advice and counsel on educational planning, degree requirements, and university or college options.
Assist students in setting academic, career, and personal development goals.
2. Career Guidance:
Offer guidance on career paths and opportunities based on the student's interests, skills, and academic performance.
Conduct workshops or seminars on career development, job market trends, and soft skills enhancement.
Help students identify internships, co-op programs, and job placement opportunities.
3. Psychosocial Support:
Address students' emotional and social issues that may impact their academic performance.
Help students cope with stress, time management, and balancing academic and personal life.
Refer students to mental health counselors or resources if needed.
4. Admission and Enrollment Support:
Assist prospective students with the application and admission process, providing guidance on eligibility and documentation.
Counsel students on scholarship, financial aid, and loan options available for their education.
5. Monitoring Student Progress:
Track and evaluate students' academic progress and provide feedback or resources to help them improve.
Organize regular follow-up meetings to ensure that students are on track with their academic and career plans.
6. Parent/Guardian Interaction:
Collaborate with parents/guardians to update them on students' academic performance and provide insights into how they can support their children.
Hold parent-teacher meetings or webinars to discuss academic concerns and achievements.
7. Collaboration with Faculty and Administration:
Work closely with academic departments, faculty, and administrative staff to create effective academic strategies and support systems.
Facilitate communication between students, faculty, and administrators when resolving academic issues.
8. Organizing Educational Events:
Plan and organize orientation programs, workshops, career fairs, and other educational events to support students.
Participate in outreach activities to promote educational opportunities and counseling services.
9. Maintaining Records:
Keep accurate records of student interactions, counseling sessions, and academic progress reports.
Use student management systems to track data and provide reports for institutional purposes.
