Job Title: Academic Coordinator
Reports To: Operations Manager
Location: Ernakulam
Job Overview:
The Academic Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing and coordinating academic activities to ensure the smooth delivery of courses in Aviation, Hotel Management, Logistics, and BBA. This role involves liaising with faculty, students, and administrative staff to maintain academic excellence and ensure adherence to institutional standards and schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Planning and Coordination:
1. Develop and oversee the implementation of academic schedules, including timetables, course plans, and exam schedules.
2. Coordinate with faculty members to ensure proper syllabus coverage and timely completion of curriculum.
3. Organize and manage workshops, seminars, and guest lectures relevant to the courses offered.
4. Monitor and evaluate the performance of students and provide feedback to improve academic outcomes.
Faculty and Student Management:
5. Act as the primary point of contact for faculty members, addressing their needs and resolving academic concerns.
6. Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new faculty members.
7. Address student queries related to academics and provide guidance on course-related matters.
8. Ensure students adhere to institutional policies and maintain discipline.
Quality Assurance:
9. Monitor and maintain academic quality and standards in all courses.
10. Conduct regular audits of lesson plans, course materials, and teaching methodologies.
11. Coordinate feedback collection from students and faculty to identify areas for improvement.
12. Work with the management team to implement changes to enhance academic programs.
Administrative Responsibilities:
13. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic progress, and assessments.
14. Coordinate with the examination team for smooth conduction of assessments and timely declaration of results.
15. Manage the inventory of academic resources, including textbooks, teaching aids, and lab equipment.
16. Prepare academic reports and updates for senior management.
Industry and Curriculum Alignment:
17. Ensure courses remain aligned with industry standards and trends, particularly in Aviation, Hotel Management, and Logistics.
18. Collaborate with industry professionals to integrate practical training and internships into the curriculum.
19. Stay updated with advancements in education technology and recommend tools to enhance learning experiences.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
20. Bachelor's degree in Education, Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
21. Minimum 3 years of experience in academic coordination or similar roles, preferably in vocational or professional education.
22. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
23. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
24. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and educational management software.
25. Knowledge of the Aviation, Hospitality, Logistics, and Management industries is highly desirable.
