Key Responsibilities:
• Academic Advising:
• Provide academic advising to undergraduate and graduate students in the Computer Science department.
• Assist students in course selection, academic planning, and understanding program requirements.
• Monitor student progress and provide support to those experiencing academic difficulties.
• Program Coordination:
• Coordinate and manage the logistics of academic programs and events, including orientations, workshops, seminars, and guest lectures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new academic programs and initiatives.
• Administrative Support:
• Maintain accurate records of student academic performance, advising sessions, and departmental activities.
• Prepare reports, correspondence, and other documents as needed.
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of classes, exams, and other departmental activities.
• Curriculum Development:
• Collaborate with faculty to develop and revise curriculum and course materials.
• Ensure that academic programs align with industry standards and accreditation requirements.
• Communication:
• Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and administration.
• Facilitate effective communication within the department and with external partners.
• Maintain and update departmental websites and social media platforms with relevant academic information.
• Student Engagement:
• Organize and support student organizations, clubs, and extracurricular activities related to computer science.
• Promote student participation in research projects, internships, and other professional development opportunities.
• Assessment and Evaluation:
• Assist in the assessment of academic programs and student learning outcomes.
• Gather and analyze data to support continuous improvement efforts within the department.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Previous experience in academic advising, program coordination, or a related administrative role within an educational institution.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite) and familiarity with academic management systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students in a diverse and dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of computer science principles, programming languages, and current trends in the field is a plus.
Work Environment:
• Full-time position with standard office hours; occasional evenings and weekends may be required for events or peak academic periods.
• Office setting within the Computer Science department, with regular interaction with students, faculty, and administrative staff.
