The AC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role involves diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring optimal system performance, and maintaining customer satisfaction through high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Installation and Maintenance:
• Install new air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on AC systems to ensure peak performance.
• Clean and replace air filters and check refrigerant levels.
• Diagnostics and Repair:
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in AC systems.
• Repair or replace defective parts in air conditioners, such as motors, compressors, and thermostats.
• Test systems and components to ensure they are working correctly.
• Customer Service:
• Communicate with customers to understand their needs and explain repair processes.
• Provide detailed service reports and documentation of work performed.
• Offer recommendations for improving system efficiency and performance.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing tasks.
• Stay updated with industry standards and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding AC systems.
• Tools and Equipment Management:
• Maintain and manage tools and equipment used for installations and repairs.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition and report any issues.
Qualifications:
• Education and Certification:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) required.
• EPA certification for handling refrigerants preferred.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an AC technician or in a similar role.
• Experience with various AC systems, including split, ducted, and central air conditioning.
• Skills and Competencies:
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Physical ability to perform manual work, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
Working Conditions:
• Work in a variety of environments, including residential homes, commercial buildings, and industrial settings.
• Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
