Job Title: Abacus Instructor
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Abacus Instructor to join our team. The Abacus Instructor will be responsible for teaching students (typically children) the basics of mental arithmetic using the abacus tool, promoting cognitive development, and improving mental calculation skills. This role requires strong mathematical skills, patience, and a passion for working with children.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach abacus-based arithmetic and mental math techniques to students, following established curriculum and training protocols.
• Conduct engaging and interactive classes, ensuring students understand basic concepts and techniques.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to help them improve.
• Prepare lesson plans, exercises, and practice worksheets to aid learning.
• Maintain student attendance and progress records.
• Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student development and achievements.
• Participate in training and professional development sessions to improve teaching skills.
• Help create a supportive and positive learning environment that fosters enthusiasm for learning.
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience as an Abacus Instructor or experience teaching mathematics to children is preferred.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in arithmetic and mental math.
• Familiarity with abacus techniques and mental calculation strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children.
• Patience and a positive attitude towards learning and student growth.
• Ability to create a fun, engaging, and educational environment.
Other Requirements:
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Certification in abacus or mental math teaching (preferred but not required).
