What We\'ll Bring: As a member of the Global Technology practice, this Information Technology Developer role will participate in the design and development of complex Ab Initio applications.The role will initially be part of the GCC team helping to deliver a new UK Data Platform using the Ab Initio solution What You\'ll Bring: Dynamics of the Role As a member of the Global Technology practice, this Information Technology Developer role will participate in the design and development of complex Ab Initio applications. The role is also responsible for helping to define, implement and enforce standards and best practices across the department. The Team\'s Focus The Application Development and Design team supports TransUnion\'s global business and consumer systems by improving the efficiency of business operations, applications and operating systems. How You Will Contribute Partner with global TransUnion technical teams to build the UK Data Management platform using agreed technologies & tooling working closely with the UK Tech Lead, Software Architect & Test Lead Actively participate with the UK development team using an agile approach. Delivering code with consistency, quality and aligned with community best practices. Collaborate closely with cross-functional technology teams using the SCRUM methodology. Ensure TransUnion design patterns, frameworks, and architectural standards are implemented consistently within the work delivered. Take accountability for quality of the code and the effectiveness of the solution in production. What You Will Bring Being passionate about data 5+ years of hands on experience developing and designing complex Ab Initio based solutions . Experience with the broader Abinitio tool suite such as Express It, Continuous Flows, Control Center, Query it etc Application development experience working with data at scale in a language capable of large-scale data processing, such as Python, C# etc Proven experience in developing software observing good practices ( Object Oriented concepts, multi-tier, Separation of concerns, SOA) Experience of an iterative/agile development methodology (e.g. SCRUM, XP, DSDM, RUP etc.) Significant use of Linux and shell scripting when developing solutions A good working database knowledge and SQL skills Working knowledge of AWS or other cloud technologies Experience of developing solutions deployed using Continuous Integration/Deployment techniques Ability to communicate well, both with technical and non-technical staff Willingness to take ownership of problems A good understanding of the full software development lifecycle A good understanding of general source control practices (structures, versioning, branching, tagging, merging) Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Desirable skills Exposure to high performing, low latency or large volume data systems. Demonstrable understanding of how Ab Initio applications and systems interact with the underlying hardware ecosystem. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of several advanced Ab Initio concepts such as, project architecture, meta-programming, vectors, parallelism, performance tuning, debugging, SMP/MPP architectures, platform integrations (Hadoop, Java, C, etc.) Impact You\'ll Make: n/a TransUnion Job Title Developer, Applications Development
