The 5-Axis CNC Programmer will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and the continuous improvement of CNC programs and associated documentation related to 3 & 5-Axis machining for complex aerospace and defense hardware. The candidate will utilize their technical expertise to work within the team to develop and implement machining and manufacturing processes to meet engineering requirements. The 5-Axis CNC Programmer will be required to take ownership of these processes from program conception to completion. Primary Responsibilities: Develop 3 & 5-Axis CNC programs for machining of complex aerospace and defense hardware in a variety of materials including, but not limited to, inconel, titanium, alloy steels, stainless steels, aluminums, and composites. Create complete work package consisting of CNC program, machining operation setup sheets, tool lists and other related documentation for use by machinist. Analyze engineering drawings and required specifications to develop CNC program and process flow to meet drawing requirements. Work with manufacturing engineering and machinists to develop manufacturing processes, including detailed work instructions, manufacturing sketches/drawings and other shop floor documentation. Assist in developing manufacturing fixturing and tooling. Provide shop floor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues. Work with manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, and manufacturing groups to utilize root cause analysis and corrective action plans to reduce/eliminate non-conformances. Analyze and evaluate manufacturing methods to provide solutions that positively affect cost, operator safety, productivity, and quality. Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives. Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers and co-workers. Basic Qualifications: Candidate must possess a High School diploma or GED and have minimum 3-4 years of prior experience programming for other machinists. Candidate must have at least 3-4 years of experience in manufacturing machining, preferably in an aerospace environment. Candidate will be required to read and understand engineering drawings. Candidate must be able to interpret and apply GD&T principles. Candidate must be capable of performing and communicating in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. Candidate must have experience with Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
