Job Description

A 2D Mold Designer creates detailed drawings and specifications for mold components, ensuring manufacturability and quality in production. They work with CAD software to design and modify molds, often collaborating with engineers and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and development of 2D technical drawings:

Generating detailed drawings for various mold components, ensuring accuracy and clarity for manufacturing.

Collaboration with engineering and production teams:

Working closely with other teams to ensure designs meet requirements and are manufacturable.

Mold design reviews:

Conducting reviews and making necessary modifications based on feedback.

Troubleshooting and problem-solving:

Providing technical support and solutions to address issues during production.

Understanding of mold design principles and practices:

Possessing a strong understanding of mold design fundamentals and best practices.

Design for manufacturability (DFM):

Ensuring designs are optimized for ease of manufacturing and cost-effectiveness.

Knowledge of CAD software:

Proficiency in 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar.

Basic knowledge of 3D design software:

Familiarity with 3D CAD software like UG or Pro/E can be beneficial.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or related field. Fresher with software knowledge Strong understanding of mould operations and toolroom processes. Knowledge of GD&T, material properties, and manufacturing standards.
