MECHATRONICS Mechatronics is a 43 year old company in the automotive parts business. It has a press shop shop and a fabrication shop and is a Tier 1 supplier to automotive majors. The company is also a member of FKCCI. In the technology side, the company is a member of the Welding Research Institute of India (WRI), with the intention of improving welding technology and reliability. The company is also a member of the National Institute of Quality & Reliability (NIQR). The technologies in manufacturing include presswork, MIG welding, spot welding and related activities. In 2000, the company received a value-engineering award from M/s. TVS Motor Company, in recognition of its work in reducing cost for its customer. Mechatronics is certified for TS 16949:2002. In addition, it has ongoing TPM Programmes for continuous improvement and progress. Mechatronics is also supported by a fully functional sister unit Tool Room, which produces Press Tools, Machining and Welding Fixtures and Acceptance Gauges. Recently, the company has undertaken an expansion programme starting a plant in Mysore, in addition to the 2 plants at Bangalore.
